PZMC (formerly run as Williams College Math Camp ) is a 12-dayresidential math camp held at Williams College in MA for about 25mathematically talented high school students who have completed or arecurrently enrolled in Algebra 2 or its equivalent. Students will beexposed to several different areas of mathematics through colloquia andother activities, but the primary focus of the camp will be NumberTheory & The Art of Mathematical Thinking. Students will learn toexplore the theory of numbers by asking thoughtful questions, workingout examples, looking for patterns, making conjectures, and finally,proving their results. A typical day at math camp includes the following:group problem-solving sessions, interactive lectures with ample time forstudent-driven mathematical discovery, a math talk by an award-winningmathematician or a panel discussion on what it’s like to major inmathematics at college, and plenty of time for fun includinghiking, museum trips, and a math movie night!
